DIRTY PROJECTORS is the band of innovative rhythm-obsessed Yale graduate Dave Longstreth. After releasing their critically acclaimed third album Rise Above in 2007, they are rumoured to be releasing another 2 albums in early 2009, on Domino Records. POLAR BEAR are a post-jazz band led by drummer Seb Rochford (also in Acoustic Ladyland) - with influences ranging from Deerhoof, Radiohead and Bjork to Thelonius Monk and Beethoven. In 2005 they were nominated for the Mercury Prize for their second album 'Held on the Tips of Fingers', which was also deemed one of '100 jazz albums that shook the world'. Experimentalists LUCKY DRAGONS are duo Luke Fischbeck and Sarah Rara from Los Angeles, who play distinctive minimalist electronic music, often only with a small number of carefully crafted layers per song. Fischbeck has made 17 releases (some live, some EP) since 2000 according to the band's website, each typically containing between 15-40 tracks.
