FRUIT BATS started in the mid 1990s as the 4-track project of ERIC D. JOHNSON from THE SHINS / VETIVER. Tours and friendships with Modest Mouse, Iron and Wine and The Shins led to Fruit Bats signing with Sub Pop in 2002, and the release of 'Mouthfuls' which ended up on many 'best of' lists, followed by 2 more albums. Fruit Bats reassembled in late 2008, and have just released new album 'The Ruminant Band' on Sub Pop.
